The Walker Talker
Walker Career Center weekly update - August 21, 2020
91.1 WEDM "THE WARRIOR NATION'S FAVORITE STATION"
For nearly 50 years, WEDM has been in operation to serve the Warren community. Students who take the class and operate the station have the opportunity to gain valuable experience while in the school setting. A few years ago WEDM started producing podcasts which are always available at wedmfm.com. Check out content any time and on our app as well as the audioboom app for podcasts. Lastly we are the sports voice of your warriors. Every football and basketball game we bring you all the action if you can't make it to the game. Tune in live to Warrior Football this fall when they take the field. This year's student Director is lead by senior, Collin Echols.
WAKE UP WARREN
Our Media Team is up and running with their live morning show, Wake Up Warren. Get the latest and greatest from Warrior Nation every morning from 7:15 - 7:30 AM. Recorded shows are available through their YouTube channel. This year's producers are: Christian Oats, Naomi Eastman, Jilana Carter-Brown, Kayla Estrada, Will Matchett, and Destiny Rodriguez.
Early Childhood Education
Students in the Early Childhood Education program are busy modeling and participating while they learn the classroom procedures during their first week in classrooms. Students in the Early Childhood Education program report during their assigned days to the Warren Early Childhood Center on Mithoeffer Road.
Criminal Justice finds a new home
The Criminal Justice program has found a new home within Walker Career Center and is now located in Industrial Drive. This space is now one of the top facilities in the state within the field of Criminal Justice. We are excited to see all of the ways Officer Barney (2019-2020 Walker Career Center New Teacher of the Year) is able to maximize this new classroom.
