- students did not support the war
- America used the draft to send men to war
- many men sent to war were young
- college students were given deferments, or postponements of service
- soon, many people were trying to get into colleges
- while this was happening, many protests in streets were happening
- if a student's grades were too low, he would not receive a deferment
Students for a Democratic Society
The Students for a Democratic Society, or SDS, was a movement organized by students, protesting against war.
