Welcome to '14-'15 SPED Family
Working together for Student Success!
I'm excited to work WITH YOU!
I hope you are as excited as I am to learn and grow this school year. I believe that by working together, we can accomplish many goals. Within the first week you can expect a phone call and a Kmail from me. Feel free to contact me back in whatever way you feel most comfortable. I'm always a click or call away!
Best Regards,

How do I fit in as a parent?
As a parent of a SPED child, we will be working to build what is called an IEP. This will be your road map, tailor made for your learner. In our first meeting together we will have time to address your concerns, so start a list now of topics you may want to discuss. Throughout the year we will meet often to discuss the IEP, how it is working, what difference is it making with learning, are there new concerns? Be prepared to meet and discuss frequently how the IEP is working for your family via Googledoc, online meetings, phone calls and/or email.
Let the Team Building Begin!
Parents of Intellectually Disabled Students
Every Tuesday we will meet in the Multi Purpose room to play, interact, support, ask and answer questions. Come share what works for you and learn tips from other families.
Join us for a webinar addressing students who are Emotionally Disturbed
Join us September 28th at 10:00 am as Dr. Dr. Andrea Ogonosky discusses the role of educating students who are Emotionally Disturbed. Stay after for a short Q&A. For more information, or to reserve your spot please email mhale@nvvacademy.org
How to Succeed with Learning Disabilities.
This group meets once a month to discuss the different types of learning disabilities and what that means for your student. Each month we have a guest student speaker address what life is like with a learning disability. Come meet others just like you. Share support, find resources, make friends.
Let's make the '14-'15 year the best TOGETHER!
