A Request for Support
Dear North View families,
We are emailing to ask for your help. Each year North View gets compensatory funding based on our free and reduced lunch rate. We use this funding to purchase intervention staff who provide small-group academic and social/emotional/behavioral interventions for students.
Because the United States Department of Agriculture is providing free breakfast and lunch to all students this year, our applications for free and reduced lunch are down considerably. This means our funding for intervention staff may be reduced by almost two-thirds for the upcoming school year.
If you haven't already done so, please take the time to log into SmartSchoolK12 where you access your child’s lunch account here https://lobby30.wordwareinc.com/, and fill out the online application by January 4th. Final budget funding will be decided by the January 4th free and reduced count lunch application count.
We appreciate your support.
Sincerely,
Diana Bledsoe
Parent Teacher Conferences
In light of the continued community concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, North View Middle School is required to host a virtual conference experience for families to engage with on either Tuesday, January 19th, or Thursday, January 28th. During this time you will be able to:
- Meet your student’s advisory teacher.
- Review classroom objectives and goals.
- Discuss how your student is progressing in each of their classes.
Families should use the link found here to sign up. This link will also provide you with the Google Meets link for your scheduled conference. If you are unable to attend or would like to view your student's progress ahead of time, please login into Schoology or ParentVue.

Technology Support!
Family Resource
The Family School Coordinator program is a program of and funded by the Northwest Hennepin Family Service Collaborative in partnership with PrairieCare, a psychiatric group that provides mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults across Minnesota. Family School Coordinators can offer the following to students in need: provide skills-based support, work closely with teachers and other school staff to support and improve functioning in school, assist families in navigating through the, at times, confusing array of school and community support services, team with the student, family members, and school staff to address mental health needs, and offer referrals to other, more intensive services when needed. Please reach out to your school social worker or counselor if you are interested in this service for your student.”

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are you doing to ensure a safe return to the school year?
Please click here for #279ReadytoRestart plan. When does the school open?
The school building will be open for students to enter each day at 7:50 am. We are asking that families do not drop off students prior to this time to avoid the congregation of large groups of students in front of the building prior to the start of the school day.- I need support with Internet Resources.
Resources are available to support families that do not have access to the internet in their homes can be found here. We will also post these resources as they become available to the COVID-19 section of the district website. Internet support and resources may also be provided to families as necessary by the district. - Will students be required to wear face coverings and socially distance at school?
Yes. All staff and students (kindergarten and older) are required to wear a face covering. Socially distancing will also be enforced in all areas of the building when students and staff are in the building.
Hello
This is my seventh year serving as principal of North View Middle School. Before coming to North View, a large portion of my professional career has been spent with Osseo Area schools, six of which were spent working as the Assistant Principal of Osseo Senior High. Before that, I spent time as a Dean of Students for Richfield High School and middle school level Science teacher and behavior dean with the Minneapolis public school system.
While in Minneapolis, I spent five wonderful years teaching middle-level Science at Lincoln Community School and Anishinabe Academy to sixth, seventh and eighth-graders, and two years providing academic and behavioral support while working as dean. My past experiences have shaped my core beliefs and philosophy of education. For me, schools must be an integral part of the community they serve. They should also be focused on high expectations for all students, and through developmentally appropriate and strong instructional practices, give students the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to exceed these expectations.
If you would like to connect with me please click here. I would love to hear from you!
