2022-2023 School wide Goals
- 10% Growth on ELA AND MATH on State Assessments - MSTEP
60% of scholars will meet their yearly NWEA Growth Target in ELA and Math.
90% SCHOLAR PERSISTENCE -It is important that our scholars stay with Trix Academy in order to see the Academic Growth they need to be High School Ready!
90% STAFF RETENTION - Keeping our staff in place year after year also ensures that not only are relationships built with our scholars and families, mastery in instruction is also taking place.
95% AVERAGE DAILY ATTENDANCE - Scholars have to be in the building daily in order to learn. We want to build and foster a community of learning that values daily attendance.
Message from Principal Perkins
Good evening Trix Academy Families,
I hope everyone stayed warm and enjoyed their three day weekend. I also hope you all had a chance to reflect on all the wonderful contribution Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has had on our community and the world. His impact on us all will forever be felt.
We are 10 days away from the end of quarter 2. I am asking parents to please encourage your scholars to complete all their assignments and to communicate with teachers to ensure they have completed any missing work.
I am also calling on parents to support our Average Daily Attendance Goal of 95% by ensuring scholars are in class daily. Scholars must be in school daily to get the necessary instruction to perform at grade level.
Please join us for our parent meeting tomorrow to discuss the affects of absenteeism and scholar performance.
We look forward to seeing you!!
Let's WIN the WEEK!!!
Mandatory Parent Meeting
The issue of attendance is has a compromising affect on scholars and can affect their ability to learn and grow in the long term. I am asking all parents to please join the Trix Academy Administration Team and Every School Day Counts Detroit to discuss issues surround scholars attendance. Let's put an end to absenteeism at Trix Academy so our scholars can have a successful future.
SAVE YOUR SEAT AT TRIX ACADEMY!!
ATTENTION 8TH GRADE SCHOLARS AND PARENTS!
New In Door Dismissal Procedure
I want to thank parents for your patience with our new dismissal procedure. Please continue to pack your patience as we continue work through the kinks.
Our procedure is below:
Parents will drive to the Trix Academy Pick Up Sign (In Green ) located at the corner of Fairmont and Fairport to give the name and grade of your scholar to the Trix Staff Members. The staff member will radio your scholar's name for pick up and parents will drive around to the JoAnn Street Side of the building with the double door. Look for the dismissal Sign In Red.
All scholars will be prepared and waiting in the gym and hallways for parent arrivals.
Parents who walk to pick up scholars, please come to the main doors for pickup assistant.
Walkers will be dismissed at 3:25.
Also the Main Doors will open for scholars at 7:30 so that NO Scholars will be outside prior to the school day.
