    We Are Connected

How Can you create a We are Connected mindset culture at home?

We all have belief systems that help define who we are. But this can go wrong when we separate ourselves from others because of these beliefs. Some individuals create walls of anger and even hatred to isolate themselves from large segments of people who could actually help and benefit them. We must instill values and a strong sense of self in our children, but also cultivate curiosity and open-mindedness towards all people, regardless of differences in beliefs. We are connected means working with others to dream bigger!

    Online Learning Survey

Please take a few minutes to complete this online learning survey to help us evaluate the Online Learning Days. We value your constructive feedback. Please let us know how we can improve the online learning experience for your child(ren). As always, responses are anonymous. Both students and parents may take the survey.

    Attention: Fifth Grade Parents

This month is growth & development education month. On March 20 the 5th grade boys and girls will separately view Proctor & Gambles growth and development video. Parent permission forms will be coming home so please watch out for those. A parent must sign for a student to be allowed to view the presentation. All forms must be returned with either a yes or no marked. Please use this link to view the scheduled video and read the pamphlets that will be given out.

    Georgia Milestones Night

This spring our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students will be taking the GA Milestone Assessment in place of the CRCT. We will be hosting a parent night on March 17th at 6:00pm to share with you the differences between the two assessments and how you can help prepare your child at home. Please plan to join us for this informational night.

    Talent Show

So many BlueBears want to show off their talent! We will have 2 nights for our students to perform. K-3rd grade will be Thursday, April 16, and 4th-5th grade will be Friday, April 17. Both shows will begin at 6PM. We are looking for volunteers to help the event run smoothly. Please email Mrs. Powell if interested: mpowell1@forsyth.k12.ga.us

    BYOT Raffle

Beginning Monday, March 16, Mashburn will be participating in the Forsyth BYOT Raffle. This is the third time Mashburn has participated in this event. You will find a flyer/order form in your child's Friday Folder today. Ticket purchases are completely optional, of course, but we certainly appreciate the support of our school community for this cause. Last year we raised $1000 towards purchases for our media center, and we hope to meet that goal again this year. If you would like to purchase tickets, please complete an order form and send to your child's homeroom teacher. Tickets will be returned to your child by the next day.

    Blessings in a Backpack

We are collecting canned soups for families in need whose children receive food each week in a backpack through the Blessings in a Backpack Program. This program was started and is managed by students at Lambert High School who wanted to make a difference in the lives of younger students in Forsyth County Schools. Thank you for your support of this valuable program!

    Attendance/Absences

Students must submit a note or parents must fax or e-mail the attendance office within five (5) school days for the student’s absence to be considered excused. Attendance Fax Number: 770-888-1202 or Attendance e-mail: sbrown@forsyth.k12.ga.us. The note must include the student’s name, the date(s) of absence(s), and the reason for the absence. The principal may require students to present appropriate medical or other documentation upon return to school for the purpose of validating that absences are excused. It is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to send the email to the attendance clerk, Suzy Brown. DO NOT assume the email you sent the teacher will be forwarded to the front office. For complete information on attendance, please refer to pages 4 & 5 of the Student Handbook.
