The Wave
Coronado Middle School June 8-12, 2020
I can't believe that Friday is just around the corner and it's almost time to bid farewell to the 19-20 school year. The past few months have certainly been strange and challenging, but the work you've done to support our students, each other, and me is beyond commendable. I'm so proud of you for always putting forth every effort to keep students invested and on track. As we head into a much deserved summer break, take some time to reflect on the work you've done in a time we never saw coming. Celebrate the end of this chapter, and kick back and relax! I 'm looking forward to seeing many of you on Wednesday as we celebrate our promoting 8th graders. I'm grateful for each of you and our year "all in this together."

Completed E-Learning Units: I have renamed the shared Google folder from 2020 Distance Learning to **Distance Learning. There is a new folder called 2020-2021 Distance Learning Planning. Please place your completed planning templates into the folder as well as link it to your classes on this document CMS E-Learning Completed Units 20-21
PowerSchool Template: To assist students and parents with finding needed information in the fall, we are asking everyone at the secondary level to use the same PowerSchool template for distance learning. See info here: Sample PowerSchool Page Instructions.

From Dr. Battle: I found this rubric to be a helpful “checklist” that can be used when designing your platform pages and units/lessons - Online Education Initiative – Course Design Rubric for California Community Colleges.
Message from Jennifer: I’ve been touting the use of viewpure.com to declutter your YouTube videos. At some point recently, the location on YouTube that View Pure is pointing to has changed. It now marks all videos as “mature” and therefore all ViewPure videos are blocked by our filter. I’ve reached out to the company and am awaiting their response as to if this is temporary or a permanent change (I’m afraid it’s the latter).
I have now pivoted to using https://safeyoutube.net/ and am having success with that. Today Katey and I (mostly Katey) redid every link in our tech slide show so we changed them from a ViewPure link to a SafeYouTube link. You may consider doing that, too.
