Cabral's journey.
Cabral planned to sail to India but on the way he had some surprises. Cabral's task was to make good relations with india for buying and selling and to spread Christianity all over. He had 13 ships which carried 1,500 people. His sailing route included going to south Africa. When he was close to the western edge of Africa, the eastern wind pushed the ship off course and he sailed west. Without meaning to, he crossed the Atlantic ocean. After 44 days he saw land, but he did not know where he was. Finally it turned out that he reached Porto Seguro, in Bahia Brazil. It was unknown to people. He discovered a new country: Brazil.
