Pandas eat various kinds of bamboo as their main food. It makes up 99% of their diet. They also eat the stems, shoots and leaves.

Pandas live in the southwest area of China. The panda can be located along the Tibetan plateau. The giant panda has always been a rare animal, confined of the mountain forests of central China, where it eats primarily bamboo.

Endangered pandas

Pandas are endangered because some people are knocking there homes because people are building factories. This is leaving the pandas with nowhere to live and no food to eat.

“Every newborn panda is important,” says Don Lindburg, leader of the giant panda research team at the San Diego Zoo.At birth panda cubs typically weigh 4-80z (100-200) and measure around 6 inces (15cm) long.
