UTC Oxfordshire
Newsletter - 25th September 2020
Dear all
We hope you have all had a productive week as we have here at UTC Oxfordshire. Students have been resilient this week in coping with their base line assessments and PPE's (Pre-Public Exams or Mocks). We have been vigilant in our hand sanitising routines are relentless in the use of face coverings around the corridors. Thank you for helping to reinforce the importance of this for the safety of all and to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.
We continue our theme of Respect this term and have had some good assemblies linking personal respect, respect for others and respect for the environment.
Next week brings the start of October with the weather cooling down. I'm immensely proud of the majority of students and how they are boardroom ready with their dress, looking really smart in their attire; thank you for your support with this.
One of our employer Partners and local businesses - Rutherford Appleton Laboratories have a sister lab, the Royal Observatory Edinburgh, who is holding virtual open days on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. As well as a chance to explore the beautiful site – which is fascinating both from a historic and a scientific point of view – there will be planetarium shows, a wide variety of talks and family activities to do at home. Jeans for Genes Day
I am pleased to say that we raised £171 for Jeans for Genes day. A further £35 was raised towards some outdoor sports equipment for all year groups which will encourage students to spend some more time outside during break and lunchtime.
