A Message from Ms. Colon
Dear Mary Williams Families:
We started our SOL's and the students have been working hard, demonstrating the knowledge they have gain all year! Please continue to support us by having them go to bed early and getting them to school on time. Don't forget that we are covering the cost of breakfast on the days students are scheduled to take the test. We want to make sure our students are ready to perform their best.
Our new playground has been installed and the students love it! I would like to thank Prince William County Schools for covering the cost of this amazing piece. We all know keeping our students active is important and our school division has made our playground a fun place for our students.
We have many things coming up; an additional painting night, field trips, and our 1st Countdown to Kindergarten event. Please follow us on social media to stay up to date on all the wonderful things happening at our school.
Honored to be your leader,
Mrs. Colon
BIrthday Policies Reminder
As part of the Virginia Healthy Initiatives, sweet treats for birthdays are discouraged. Children love to get pencils, erasers, and stickers, which are a much healthier option over cupcakes. If you do choose to bring your child’s class a birthday treat, we ask that it be peanut and tree nut free, sealed, and store bought with an ingredient label. All items must be checked in at the office and be served during lunch. Please contact your child’s teacher or the school nurse if you have any questions.
What can you do to support your child with positive behavior?
Review the Code of Behavior with your child.
Ask your child about his/her day at school every day.
Keep in touch with your child's teacher
Encourage your child to use appropriate language and tone.
Practice positive phrases with our child, such as, “Thank
you,” “Excuse me,” “Please,” and “I’m sorry.”
Be a visible part of your child’s school day. Attend PTA and school events.
Lost and Found- WE STILL HAVE ITEMS
Once again, our bins of lost and found items have piled up. If your child has something missing, please have them look in our lost racks. Parents are welcome to look too!
We will be donating ALL of the items to a local charity at the end of the day on Friday, May 20- updated
