One Semester Completed...

Dear 2nd Grade Families,

We have had a wonderful semester together in 2nd Grade. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful and sweet group of 2nd graders that I get to spend each day with. :-) I am also so grateful to have such generous families. Thank you so much for all of the sweet gifts I received today for the Holidays. I am so very appreciative.

I hope you and your families have a wonderful Holiday season, and I cannot wait to see what the New Year will bring for our class!

Please read through our newsletters for some end of the semester reminders and some fun updates on our adventures together this past week. See you in 2016!

Sincerely,

Ms. Przedpelski

Optional Homework for Winter Break

Over the Holiday break, there will be 3 assignments uploaded to Study Island (one Math, one Reading, and one Language Arts). These will be a review of the skills and concepts we have covered during the first semester of 2nd grade. If your child completes all three of these assignments over the break, they will earn a dress down day in January when we return!

Six Flags Reading Logs

We will NOT have Reading Logs/Reflections for the month of December. Your students can work on filling out their Six Flags Read to Succeed logs over the Holiday break! These are due in February.

Winter Celebration Fun!

We had an awesome time on Thursday at the Elementary Winter Celebration. I hope your 2nd graders came home with some stories for you after all of the excitement. A giant thank you to all of the 2nd grade parents who helped make this day so special. We appreciate all of the materials and time donated! These fun days would not be possible without the support of our wonderful families.

Our day was FULL of winter fun! We began the day together making a penguin out of recycled water bottles, we explored "Snow Science" and made our own snow, we sang some karaoke and took some funny photo booth pictures, we made star yarn hangers, and we played a game of "pass the present" where everyone in our class got their own stuffed snowman. This was all before lunch!! After lunch... we made a very cute snowman frame to display our class photo, we got our faces painted and enjoyed some winter stories, we made snowmen out of socks, and we ended our day with a popcorn snack and a movie. It was such a FUN day together, and a great way to end the semester after so much hard work.
