300 High-Frequency Words
Your child received a list of words to study at home. Students need to be able to read these words quickly without having to use decoding strategies. Write the words your child continues to miss on index cards and practice these words daily. Thanks so much for partnering with us to inspire strong and independent readers!
Can't find the list that was sent home? No problem!

Thank you so much to those parents that were able to attend our first annual 2nd Grade Summer Kick-Off Kickball Tournament! Students had a blast. Congratulations, Banana Splits, on winning first place! We'd like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Payne for all of their help pitching and regulating the games. Thank you to parents who brought water bottles to share with the students. We are so lucky to have such supportive families!
Yearbook Signing on Tuesday
We invite all second graders to bring yearbooks on Tuesday. We will have all students gather together to sign yearbooks. Please have your child bring a sharpie to write with as we do not have enough sharpies for each child to use. If your child did not purchase a yearbook, we will have paper books for your child to use.
Students are welcome to bring board games on Wednesday to celebrate Student Appreciation Day. We will make time in between lessons for students to play games with friends. Students may also leave their games at school on Wednesday afternoon to use again on Thursday.
Pop Tabs for Ronald McDonald House
The Pirate CFO Future Exploration class is collecting pop tabs to help benefit the Ronald McDonald house in Fort Worth. The money that is collected at the recycling center from the tabs is an amount that is a huge benefit to the Ronald McDonald house! Did you know from just the "pop tabs" collected in our area, the Fort Worth Ronald McDonald house receives between $5000-$6000 to help support the needs at the house? The aluminum tabs do not have to be only from "pop" cans. They can come from any aluminum can! Thank you for helping our Future Exploration students in supporting our community members!
Thank you for your help & support!
