ACT Testing Groups for Juniors from 8:30 - 9:30 on Wednesday, February 24th
On Wednesday, February 24th, we will have one final meeting with our 11th grade students in their testing groups. In case of inclement weather L, we will have this on the first day of Trimester 3, whenever that might be and as long as it is before the March 1st ACT date, thank you for continuing to remain flexible. The students will be located in the math and science wing in their testing rooms—the same rooms they used in August and December for mock ACT Testing. This will also mean that some teachers and their homerooms will be relocated into some of your classrooms for this period of time. Also, because this is the first day of the new trimester, please hand out schedules for Trimester 3 to students in your testing group.
The time schedule is as follows:
ACT Testing Groups(11th Grade)/Homerooms (9th, 10th, & 12th Grade): 8:30 – 9:30
1st Block: 9:35 – 10:15
2nd Block: 10:20 - 10:55
This final hour with your testing groups is meant for your students to get an overview of the schedule for the ACT on March 1st. There are several things that we want you to cover with your students--mainly more of a broad scope rather than the intensive sessions we had focused on content in October and December at SCC. If a student believes they will do well, most of the time they do, and this session is meant to calm nerves and get our 11th grade students focused on doing their best when they take the ACT.
We would also like the 11th grade to evaluate our October and December ACT sessions, so please make enough copies of the evaluation for those in your groups and have them fill this out during this time. When your students get to the bottom of the evaluation, they will be asked to set some goals based on the CPE benchmarks for the ACT. Those benchmarks are English-18, Math-19, Reading-20, and Science-23. Lastly, we have a 5 min 10 sec video that you will need to show your juniors.
Homerooms for 9th, 10th, & 12th Grade Students from 8:30 - 9:30 on Wednesday, February 24th
On Wednesday, February 24th, our junior class will be meeting with their testing groups from 9:15 - 10:15 and all other grades will be meeting in their homerooms. In case of inclement weather L, we will have this on the first day of Trimester 3, whenever that might be and as long as it is before the March 1st ACT date, thank you for continuing to remain flexible. During this time, all 9th, 10th, and 12th grade students will be meeting in their homerooms in order to cover a list of things that will help them focus on the spring trimester.
The bell schedule for the morning will be different, so please follow these times:
ACT Testing Groups(11th Grade)/Homerooms (9th, 10th, & 12th Grade): 8:30 – 9:30
1st Block: 9:35 – 10:15
2nd Block: 10:20 - 10:55
Please plan to cover the following with your homeroom groups:
