Our newsletter will come to you usually on Friday afternoons to keep you informed with what is happening at McBride. Please make sure you share the link with others who may be interested in this information: grandparents, grandfriends, Kiwanis members, Lions Club members, business owners, etc. We want the word to get out that McBride is a great place for students, families, staff and community to gather! We're all about kids and making a difference this year!

During the day drop off....
Thank you for your attention with this.

Kindergarten Welcome!
Arrival and Drop Off
Drop off: Please pull up in the drop off line to let your student out safely. We ask that the first five cars let students out then proceed to drive out. We ask that the second lane be not used to pass cars. This creates confusion and unsafe conditions at arrival.
Thank you.
***Remember this to help our arrival and dismissal to go quickly...
If you have to put your car in park, then enter into the parking lot to park your car.

"Together - Make a Difference" Awards
"Together - We Make A Difference" Awards will be given each week to recipients who have been nominated because they have done something or given time to make a difference at McBride. Please email Mrs. Tyler your nominations (lisat@sthelens.k12.or.us).
Dani Boylan, Nikki Reedy and Jessica McIntyre (Preschool Staff) When a Preschool staff member was out sick this week, these ladies stepped up and filled in for their colleague. It's a great feeling to feel supported by the team when sickness comes! Thank you!
Melissa Howard (Speech Pathologist) We recently had a member of the Speech Department that needed to be away from McBride for a bit. Mrs. Howard reworked the schedule to make sure that all students were being seen appropriately. Scheduling is very difficult work and we're so grateful for all she did to ensure our students were taken care of during this time period. Thank you, Melissa!
Arisa Cupp and Angie Oehlert - (McBride Parents) These ladies worked for three weeks supporting behavior while we were transitioning Mrs. Franz into the Wellness Room and determining who would take that position. Thank you, ladies for all your support!
Makenna Wheeler, Josh Taylor, Parker Humbird and Charity Olson - These students serve on our Safety Patrol. This week they added to their duties and waved and smiled at passing cars. It is amazing the response they received. A smile and a wave can make a person's day! Thank you, Safety Patrol Team, for teaching us that smiling makes a difference!
Julie Nelson (McBride Librarian) Thank you to Mrs. Nelson for organizing our Read-a-thon through Titlewishâ„¢. This program ensures that 100% of donations would buy McBride library books! Thank you, Mrs. Nelson for spending time helping our students receive new library books!
Chris Swift (Behavior Support) Mr. Swift has been a huge support at McBride. This week he has moved positions from Classroom Assistant to Behavior Support. This is because Mrs. Franz has moved from Behavior Support to the Wellness Room Director. Mr. Swift has risen to the occasion and our students (and staff) are so fortunate to have him work in this position.
Bailey Trask- (Art Therapy Intern) Ms. Bailey took time out of her day to work on a very special project with a student. The impromptu project meant so much the student. Thank you Ms. Bailey for making a difference with our students.
Heidi Green (Success Coach) Ms. Green has done quite a bit to revitalize the cafeteria and promoting positive behavior. Thank you for all you do for our students and staff.
Diana Johnstun (Reading Team) A classroom teacher had a meeting this week after school and she came back to school to bring some work examples for the parent to see. Thank you, Mrs. Johnstun, for being so thoughtful.
Jessica Seay and Tracie O'Day (District Business Office Staff) These two ladies are an amazing support to our office staff and principal helping them navigate all the purchasing and finances that happen at the school level. Thank you, Jessica and Tracie, for supporting McBride with all your encouragement and help. We appreciate you both.
Dave Karn (4th grade teacher) We appreciate Mr. Karn for being the our sound master for assemblies and special events! We all benefit from his musical talents and DJ know-how. You rock, Mr. Karn!
James Belcher (I.T. Dept.) James and crew came over at C-Pods request to remove unwanted computers. What a makeover it has been. Thank you for so much for all you did to take away the computers to help us clean up our space. We appreciate you!
