Northpoint families:
Hello to our Northpoint Families!
I hope everyone had a restful, healthy and safe break. Although for many this wasn’t a typical holiday, I hope each of you found a way to enjoy time with family and friends!
Although this has been quite a unique school year, one thing that remains the same is how quickly time flies! Here we are at the end of the first trimester, with the last day being December 4. A few reminders:
- We have school on Friday, December 4. Originally, this was a teacher workshop day but was changed earlier this fall to now be a student contact day.
- There is no school – as previously scheduled – on Monday, December 7. Teachers use this day for end of trimester grading and reporting.
- On Thursday, December 10, grades will be available for families to access in the Campus Parent Portal.
- Report cards will only be shared electronically. If you request a paper copy, please call our Northpoint office at 763-600-5700. We will print and mail one to you.
As we transition into Extended Flexible Learning for all K-6 students this week, we want to hear how it is going. This 1-page overview provides an outline of what you and your child should be experiencing. And, this story - Experiences from distance learning – showcases what this experience is like now compared to last spring.
If your experience is not reflective of these expectations, we want to hear from you. We want to hear from you regardless as we continue our work to deliver an engaging and personalized learning experience for your child.
This week, all at-school learning is paused. This includes center-based special education. We are assessing what can safely continue given the public health situation in our community and impacts to staffing in our schools. As health care infrastructure reaches a breaking point, we are working closely with our regional team to navigate what we can continue to support in our school. We very much hope to resume some targeted services as quickly as possible.
At this point, we can expect be in Extended Flexible Learning (distance) through at least winter break. Our Northpoint team is working diligently to create an experience that is supportive, engaging, purposeful and will lead to deep learning among our students. As mentioned above, please be in touch with your child’s teacher or me if you have questions or concerns!

Welcome Back!
However you and your family chose to spend the recent break, I hope you found time to relax while enjoying the beautiful November weather. As we near the end of the first trimester there are some important details for you to be aware of.
Families that have been in Extended Flexible Learning throughout the fall continue to follow the district calendar and there are some important dates coming up:
- School will be in session this Friday, December 4.
- There is no school on Monday, December 7. This day is used by all teachers for grading, reporting and communicating with families.
While other K-4 students and families are transitioning into Extended Flexible Learning this week, we have been at this for a while. I have shared with you some successes that our students and families are experiencing, yet we still want to hear how it’s going. Please note this 1-page overview which describes what you should be experiencing. If this is not your experience, please reach out. Your student’s learning experience is our number one goal.

Northpoint Yearbook Picture Submissions
Collecting yearbooks from year to year is a special way to remember friends, memories and to show growth. Creating a yearbook this school year will look different, but with YOUR help it will still be filled with precious memories! We are calling on families to capture the moments of the year at home!
Please take snap shots of your kiddos engaging in activities at home and send them to Bethany Stiles. Please include the child’s first and last name, grade and teacher when you send in photos. If possible, write a little blurb about what is happening in the photo. Also, for families of EFL students that did not want to have their student's picture taken onsite, you may also email a headshot to Bethany Stiles to be included in the yearbook.
