EAGLE TRACTS
OCTOBER 2020
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Eagle Family,
Welcome to the 2020-2021 academic year. I hope you have had a good vacation and organized yourselves well for the academic pursuit of the new school year.
We are in unprecedented and challenging times owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and your support through this period has been worthy of commendation. Please let us reflect on and celebrate what we achieved during the last school year despite the challenges which we faced.
Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our students and staff, hence we have resumed back in virtual/online mode. This semester/ term may not be the usual, however, I am confident that our learning will not only continue, but it will also thrive as we will continue to engage our students through virtual and/or online facilitation.
To our ‘Eagle’ parents, we acknowledge how challenging it can be to keep up with your child’s 'learning at home', and we cannot thank you enough for the support and interest you have shown thus far in your child’s learning.
'To our ‘Eagle’ students, I cannot wait to see you!' I hope that you are excited about this school year. Clearly, it is going to be a technology-driven semester/ term, and promises to be fun!. We will be learning together to achieve the highest accomplishments!
The International Baccalaureate Learner Profile attribute for our reopening month is Open-minded. People who are open-minded understand and appreciate their own cultures and personal histories, and are open to the perspectives, values, and traditions of other individuals and communities. As we do our best to instill this attribute in our students, we hope you will encourage them to exhibit this attribute at home.
To conclude, please remember that my door is always open to you. I sincerely welcome your conversation and input during this school year. When we work together we can ensure the success of everyone in our school community.
Thank you for your flexibility and support.
Sincerely,
Mrs.Vani Joseph
Principal

OUR VIRTUAL LEARNING IN RETROSPECT
Education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. Well, the story is no different here at C.I.A. where students have been out of the homeroom for about 7 months! There is a sunny side to this new normal though. Research suggests that virtual/online learning has been shown to increase retention of information, and takes less time, meaning the changes coronavirus has caused might be here to stay. This semester, we will continue to effectively engage our students via online/virtual facilitation. Now, why don't we take a look back on our virtual learning last semester?
BEWARE OF YOUR POSTURE
STAFF FITNESS CHALLENGE @ C.I.A.
The global outbreak of COVID-19 resulted in the closure of gyms, stadia, pools, dance and fitness studios, parks, and playgrounds. Many individuals were therefore not able to actively participate in their regular individual or group sporting or physical activities outside of their homes. Well, the tide finally seems to be turning now as C.I.A. embarks on a fitness challenge to create a culture of physical wellness among its staff and management. A 15-day fitness challenge was organized and awards were presented to some facilitators who participated and excelled in the challenge. Here are some photos of the event. Enjoy!
LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
WHO AM I?
“When you are joyful, when you say yes to life and have fun and project positivity all around you, you become a sun in the center of every constellation, and people want to be near you.”
– Shannon L. Alder
In this world, many people surround us. Though we apparently look similar, we are unique in our own ways. This uniqueness gives us an identity. While growing up, I have realized that I am an individual but I play several roles throughout the day. As per these roles, my behavior and attitude keep changing. These changes add various shades to my personality.
Firstly, in my home, I am a daughter. I try to listen and follow what my parents teach me. When I do well in my studies, they become proud. Yet when I do not obey them, they scold me. I get lots of love, care, and attention from my parents. I also care, love, and respect them. My parents are my first identity in this world.
Secondly, I am a sister. I have an elder brother who takes care of me and guides me to follow the path to success. We spend quality time together playing, laughing at jokes, and watching our favorite cartoon shows. The love, care, the fight makes a beautiful bond between us.
Thirdly, I am a student. Our facilitators always try to guide us to realize our path of life. They want us to be sincere in studies and build a successful career. They also instill in us the values of a good human being. I try to be a sincere and obedient student and complete my homework regularly and excel in my studies. I also respect my teachers and other staff in my school. My teachers are patient and they always guide me to overcome my mistakes.
Fourthly, the role that we all love is that of a friend. I have many friends who I love to hang out with. We help each other in times of need and live happy moments together. Friendship is very beautiful and I love to make my friends feel special.
Conclusion
In this course of life, we not only get to know different people, but we also get to know ourselves in different ways.
As we grow, our likes, dislikes, and interest change. Our perception and outlook toward life also change with time and experience. Thus, the search for the answer to the question of "who I am" is a lifelong quest.
