Scholars of the Week- Lunch with the Principal

Scholars of the week are invited to a lunch with the Principal at Ruby Tuesdays, October 21, 2022.

Scholars of the week who have quarter exams during 3rd period on October 21 need to make arrangements to take their quarter exam during advisory October 18-21.

Scholars of the week can pick up their permission slips from Mrs. Williams in the main office at dismissal.

Dinner with the Principal

Introducing our monthly family and community meeting, Dinner with the Principal.

2nd Thursday of every month, 6-7pm.

Refreshments will be served.

The next meeting will be November 10, 2022 6-7pm.

KPHS Scholar Dress Code 2022-23

Big picture
The mission of KIPP GCP: Pride High School is to prepare our scholars with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose- college, career and beyond- so they can live choice filled lives and build a more just world. Our dress code policy is designed to align to our core values of Leadership, Excellence, Community, Integrity and Humility. Through our dress code policy, we will promote unity, community, pride within our school and ensure that students are safe, age appropriately dressed and minimize distractions to prioritize learning. Our dress code policy is designed to be more aligned with KIPP high schools around the country.

Scholars are expected to be in full dress every day!

Senior Mentor Groups

Are you a senior who is interested in leadership and supporting your community by modeling excellence? If so, you should serve as a Senior Mentor!

We are looking for senior scholars to model leadership and excellence by mentors to our freshman pride. If you are senior who is interested in serving as a mentor, please speak with Ms. Spady and/or Mrs. Lofstedt. Scholars will have to meet a criteria of exellence to serve as a mentor.

Applications will be available October 24 and due October 31.

This is an excellence opportunity to build community and serve as a leader at Pride High while earning community service hours and build your college resume.

Primary School Truck or Treat

Calling all Seniors & Juniors!

If you are interested in participating in a Truck or Treat for our GCP primary school pride members, sign up with Ms. Spady and/or Mr. Griffin. Scholars will have to meet a criteria of exellence to participate.

Sign ups will begin Tuesday, October 18th, 2022. The first interest meeting will be Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 8:10am in the cafeteria.

This is an excellence opportunity to build community and serve as a leader at Pride High while earning community service hours and build your college resumes.

Senior College Trips

Chowan University- October 25, 2022

NC A&T State University- October 31, 2022

* Chowan college trip is open to all seniors as well as a limited number of freshmen, sophomores and juniors who are interested in a career in music.

** Please see the college counselors for more details.

Tutoring Tuesday

School wide tutoring is every Tuesday 4-5pm.

Scholars who have a 70 or below are encouraged to attend.

Scholars, speak with your teachers for specific course arrangements for tutoring.

Scholar Parking

Parking enforcement has began.

Scholars who drive to campus must have returned all parking permit/pass information to Ms. Spady.

Car without the appropriate parking permission will be ticketed. Scholars who drive to campus without the proper permissions will receive school consequences.

Scholars who need to go to their car, for any reason during the day, must first ask their teacher then report to the main office and exit after notifying Mrs. Williams.

Scholars who do not complete the required paperwork and/or abuse their parking privileges can have their privileges revoked.
