18th Century - Music

The music in the 1700s was more simple and more style of music called gallant style. Three famous musical artists are John Sebastian Bach, George Frederick Handel, and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. First of all, Bach was born on March 21, 1685 and one of his famous songs was the Six Brandenburg Concertos. Next, Handel was born on February 23, 1685 and one his most famous songs was Anne-Marie Minhall: Zadok the Priest. Finally, Mozart was born on January 27, 1756 and one of his famous songs was the Coronation Mass.

18th Century - Art

The 1700's brought back artistic styles of classical antiquity called neoclassicism. Two styles were Baroque and Rococo. Baroque art reflected the religious tensions of the age and the notably the desire of the Catholic Church in Rome. One famous Baroque artwork was "A Fantastic Cave with Odysseus and Calypso". Rococo originated in France around 1720 evolved from Baroque but was a style of architecture and decoration. A famous Rococo artwork was "The Embarkation for Cythera".

18th Century - Peasant Life

Peasants in the 1700s where mainly farmers who provided the community with economic resources necessary for survival and the social support to deal with the hardships of life. Farmers who didn't own enough land they made agreements to share their economic resources. "Meat made up a large portion of the diets" - umich.edu. Entertainment involved public executions, music, art, etc.
