2nd Grade
The Second Grade had a special visitor: Mrs.Boudreaux! She stopped in to say goodbye and bring each student a handmade rosary for their First Communion. The class was thrilled with the gift but very sad to see Mrs. Boudreaux leave our school. Thank you for making Science so much fun! We love you!
5th Grade
This week an instructor from STARBASE came to visit the fifth graders. She told the fifth-graders about the program and gave them a pre-assessment to prepare them for our field trip in May.
6th Grade
Sixth graders colored placemats for the Kairos Prison Ministry for use during the minitry's fellowship dinner with inmates.
7th Grade Social Studies
The students took notes in a gallery walk format where they learned from other groups’ designs. Each display had two index cards and a play-doh design representing their assigned global challenge our world is facing in the 21st century. Some of the topics were: terrorism, the Persian Gulf Wars, US politics, global trade, Asia’s economic powers, European challenges and the EU, and the struggles faced by developing nations.
8th Grade Social Studies
8th grade social studies are enjoying board games made by their peers for WWII! Some of the games included WWII Taboo, WWII Monopolife, Waropoly, WWII Battleship, Sorry, and WWII Life.
7th Grade Baby Shower and Goodbye to Mrs. Boudreaux

Women of St. Francis Recipe Request!
The Women of St. Francis are currently preparing our first ever "cookbook" which will feature recipes from the Soup for Scholarships event. This event, which was held the week before Lent started, provided 3 scholarships for St. Francis Catholic School students for next year.
For this historic cookbook, we would like to open the opportunity to the parents of students of SFCS also, because, ultimately your students are the recipients of the benefits of the sales. It is not necessary that you have attended the event. The proceeds from the cookbook will also go into the scholarship program.
Besides the soups we are also accepting salad and bread recipes. If you would like to participate we need your best recipe in one of the above categories, plus on alternate. We need to receive these by May 10, 2019. The committee will then review all recipes for accuracy and duplication. Please understand that we may not be able to accept every recipe submission. We hope to have the books ordered over the summer and ready for sale by the Church picnic in the fall.
If you any questions please feel free to contact Mary Sullivan at marysullivan318@gmail.com.
Great Job Michelle!

No-Sew Blanket Kit Project
Dear Parents,
The FSA is currently assisting The Women of St. Francis with their No-Sew Blanket Kit Project. The WOSF will be donating the completed blankets to Family Promise of Beaufort County, as well as to other organizations in need.
The school has been given 10 blankets kits and we are looking for volunteers to assemble blankets. The kits include the material and instructions are provided. These blankets are very easy to make, though the WOSF have also recommended YouTube tutorials.
Completed blankets can be returned to the FSA, via the School Office, no later than Wednesday, May 15th. If you are interested in helping, please click on the Sign-Up Genius link below. Kits will be sent home with your child early next week.
