NOVEMBER 19 - NOVEMBER 26, 2021
Happy fall, Otters!
With the holidays approaching I’m always reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. Olson is an outstanding school full of great students, committed teachers, involved parents, and an awesome PTA! I am truly grateful to serve as principal of this campus.
This time of year is so much fun and always busy. We have a Swim Up and early release day on Friday, and then before you know it, it will be time for our Peppermint Village Holiday store and then Winter Class Parties. This year our class parties will be on Thursday, December 16th and limited to students and room parents.
I hope that everyone is enjoying our wonderful fall weather, and making great memories with your families.
Happy Fall, Ya’ll!

Cancellations will be accepted and a refund will be issued as long as the cancellation is received by noon on Nov. 29, 2021.

OLSON'S SCIENCE FAIR - DECEMBER 09
Class Party Fund Donations
Fun fact: Class parties are funded by parent donations!
Each grade level has their own fund that rolls over from year to year and is equally distributed to each class to ensure all kiddos have a similar (and fun!) experience. Room Parents work within budget to assist teachers in planning/executing the festivities.
- K-5 there are 2 parties a year: One in Winter (12/16), one at the end of the year (date TBD).
- 6th grade goes on field trips instead! Donated funds will be applied to graduation festivities.
Consider donating $5-10 here (or reach out to your class' Room Parent if you/your business has relevant supplies) - Thank you for your generosity!

The Character Trait for the month of November is EMPATHY!
Empathy is defined as an action of understanding, being aware of, and being sensitive to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another person. Empathy is about understanding what it is like to be in another person’s place or position.
In order to show others empathy, we need to understand what they are feeling and respond in kindness. We interact with people every day who have needs, need understanding, or need to be listened to. As we move through our day, we need to pay attention to what is being said and unsaid, as well as what is happening around us.
This time of year, we are finding people in need almost daily. By being empathetic, we take the time to let those around us know that we care about them.
This month, show your children what it means and how it feels to do something to impact the lives of others by listening, doing something or “walking in someone else’s shoes.”
RISE & SHINE: MORNING ARRIVAL AT OLSON
Way to go, parents, on getting your kiddos to school on time! Our number of tardies has steadily decreased over the past couple of weeks. As a reminder, students arriving after the bell rings at 7:45 am will need to be signed in by a parent/guardian at the office.
In addition, please do not drop-off your student before 7:30 am. We do not have staff available to supervise until 7:30. Thank you!
