ROYAL REVIEW (9.16.22)

To be Christ-centered in our words, thoughts and actions.

HOLY SPIRIT MOMENTS

A good priest friend of mine always says "Nothing by coincidence, everything by Divine Providence". I have had numerous times in my life where this resonates so true. As I continue to grow in my Faith journey, I enjoy reflecting on what I like to call Holy Spirit Moments. Over the last two days, there have been situations where I know that the Holy Spirit was with me and guided me through my day. I praise God daily for those opportunities.

I hope that we all take time to let the Lord in, as well as the opportunity to avail yourself to Holy Spirit Moments.

MIDTERMS

Normally halfway through the grading period, we would be sending midterms home with your child. During the first nine weeks of the school year, our teachers spend a lot of time working on relationships and have not taken many grades. With that being said, we will not be sending home a midterm the first grading period.

All of you should have access to Powerschool, however, if you do not, please contact our school and we will make sure you get set up. As always, if you have any concerns about your child's grades, please feel free to reach out to the classroom teacher.

“KOATS FOR KIDS"

The “Koats For Kids” program is ready to distribute new coats to school age children in grades preschool through 8th grade who need a winter coat. We have been serving the Fort Wayne area since 1997 distributing winter coats for eligible children and we are not stopping now! We will continue to serve the children maintaining our high standards of new coats and volunteer friendliness. We have partnered with the Fort Wayne Police Department to deliver the coats to the school. If you would like a coat for your child(ren) please contact Mrs. Etter as soon as possible. christy.etter@queenofangelsschool.com

REMINDER: SACRAMENTAL YEAR STUDENTS/PARENTS, WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Every year our second and eighth graders prepare for the Sacraments of either First Communion or Confirmation. There are certain things that our Parish needs in order for us to fully have your child ready to receive this Sacrament. Please avail yourself to the opportunity of getting the following things to our school office for each of these Sacraments:

Second Grade (1st Holy Communion)

  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate (or the name of the Parish of Baptism)

Eighth Grade (Confirmation)

  • Birth Certificate
  • Baptismal Certificate (or the name of the Parish of Baptism)
  • Sponsor Name
  • Name of the Patron Saint that you would like to choose (Now is the time to start researching and learning about the Saint that you want to choose)

**Please get these items turned into our school office as soon as possible. ***

LUNCH ASSISTANCE: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to help in our lunchroom. This is a great way to interact with the students and build our community of faith. Help is needed from 10:30-1:30. Parents, grandparents, cousins or friends are all welcome. If you are interested in joining us please contact the school office. Volunteers must be safe environment approved (we will help with this process). Please consider this way to support our school.

We would like to thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.

Paz y Bien,
Laurie Reynolds

Come and join us every Monday at 8:15 and learn to pray the rosary in Spanish. We have three parishioners that have joined us since April and they know already how to pray it in Spanish. I have made prayer cards where you can follow with us. Our Lady promises whoever prays my rosary constantly will receive whatever grace they ask of me in accordance with God’s will. Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary awaits you.
