THE PRIDE PRESS
Essex Elementary School Newsletter
May 14, 2021
We had a wonderful week of school and were able to enjoy some beautiful weather. The week flew by! I want to thank all of you who participated in celebrating our amazing staff during Teacher Appreciation Week last week. Our staff has gone above and beyond this year to engage all of our learners!
Last week we began our placement process for next year's classes. This process was done through the lens of balancing classrooms and grouping students together with a focus on their SEL and academic needs. Our placement process is blind this year which means students are not being placed with specific teachers. Families will receive letters indicating their child's classroom placement in mid June.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Essex Elementary School
MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
The Vermont Department of Mental Health is releasing newsletters on various mental health topics each week throughout May. The Week One newsletter focuses on child, youth and family mental health.
MEDIC ALERT BRACELETS
If your child has a medical condition that you would like
others to be aware of in case of an emergency, I highly
recommend having them wear a Medic Alert Bracelet.
