What's Happening at ATP?
November 16-20, 2020
Dear Students, Families, and Staff
Happy Thanksgiving! I know this year has been difficult for many of us, but hopefully, we can take a moment and appreciate even the simplest things such as being safe and healthy. November 23-27 is a holiday week. The school will be closed and there will be no virtual learning.
At this time, I do not have new information about our re-opening. We are still on schedule to re-enter back on campus on January 11, 2020. Although we are in the Purple Tier, our elementary schools have brought students back to in-person learning. It is nice to see students on campuses. We don't have our students back on our campus, and we miss them very much. We are bringing students back on campus for assessments. Some of you have seen the changes we have made. For those who have seen our changes, our campus has transformed to maintain the health and safety of our students and staff. I have a couple of reminders for our students and their guardians, please remember to complete and acknowledge that you have received the face-covering policy. I have provided the link here for you. All parents and guardians who haven't yet, should please use this form to review our student face-covering policy and submit your acknowledgment at the end.
When we return, we plan to offer our students a survey for social/emotional learning. Our goal is to use the results to design curriculum and support for our students. Teachers will send the surveys via email and have students complete them in their virtual classrooms. For students who need their parent or guardian support, we welcome the assistance. Please feel free to reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions.
Lastly, we have an upcoming School Site Council meeting, November 30, 2020, at 2pm. I am still looking for students and parents interested in participating. Please reach out to me directly if you are interested.
In closing, I want to wish our students, their families, and staff a safe and healthy Thanksgiving Break. I hope you use this time to rest and spend time with your family without the distraction of any Zoom meetings, unless it is personal.
Take care,
Grace Ridgeway

People with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
Our safety video was sent to all families via email, text, websites, and social media, in English and Spanish, giving a tour of what campuses will look like when students re-enter for hybrid instruction. The video helps illustrate school entrance with temperature checking, signage around campus, and other safety measures. Feel free to share this video with your communities as you see fit.
To view the video with subtitles, Spanish-speaking parents and guardians can follow the steps in this instructional video, which will be included in our communication.
OUSD Adult Transition Program (OATP)
The adult transition program (ATP) serves students with disabilities who are between the ages of 18 and 22. ATP prepares students to participate in educational, employment, and community-based activities. Daily instruction focuses on activities of daily living and includes opportunities to practice these skills within the classroom and their community. ATP provides a bridge to support students in accessing post-secondary options including courses at local colleges, obtaining competitive integrated employment, and participating in regionalized programs. The primary goal for ATP is to promote opportunities for students to become more independent and become contributing members of their communities.
