TMS Connect
August 4th, 2023
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!
As former TMS families know, we send out a community newsletter to families every Friday during the school year to keep families in-the-know about things happening at TMS, from community programs, to upcoming testing, to pictures of our students actively learning every day!
For the first newsletter of the year, there is a variety of information related to the first few days of school, student pickup and drop-off, and events happening around campus in the coming week. If you have any questions after reading through, feel free to contact the TMS Main Office at 765.675.7521.
Your new TMS Administrative Team
Andrea Wesner continues to be our receptionist extraordinaire, and any financial questions can be directed to Linda Sprinkles, who continues to serve as our TMS Treasurer. Cliff Hackman is also returning for his second year as our TMS Guidance Counselor.
TMS Rocks (6th Grade Orientation)
Meet the Teacher Night and Blue Devil Bash
At 6:00, TMS will start our Meet the Teacher Night (TES begins at 5:30, and THS begins at 6:00). We welcome students and families to the building to meet their teachers for their coming year, decorate lockers, say hello to friends, and walk the building!
School Supply Lists
We do want to gently remind students and families that during the school day (8-3), backpacks, purses, and other kinds of bags should be kept in lockers. Pencil pouches and smaller pouches are still great!
Car Rider Information
If you plan on driving your child to and from school, please be highly aware in the parking lot, as staff and student are also arriving and walking into the building. Please use caution and moderate your speed!
Late Arrivals and Early Pickups
Any students arriving late needs to come to the main entrance of the Middle School. They will sign in and be given a pass. Parents do not need to check in their child physically.
Early Pickups
If your child needs to leave early, the TMS office needs to know the date, time, and reason for leaving. Families may contact the TMS office via email (awesner@tcsc.k12.in.us) or by calling (765.675.7521). All adults picking up a student must come to the office with a valid government-issued ID, and anyone picking up a student must be listed as a PowerSchool contact (you can update that list as needed).
TMS Picture Day - September 19th
Food Service Information and Free and Reduced Lunch
If you are hoping to apply for Free or Reduced lunch, the forms are available on PowerSchool, and families are encouraged to set that up before the beginning of the school year.
Finally, the TMS schedule has changed slightly, with A lunch from 11:03-11:33 and B lunch from 11:54-12:24. The A lunch will have all 6th graders and half of the 7th grade students, with B lunch having all 8th graders and the other half of the 7th grade students.
