A monthly e-newsletter designed to provide all constituents of the Methacton School District with a review of the most recent meetings of the Board of School Directors.

The Meeting in Review

During a special meeting held on October 12, the Board voted to approve a settlement agreement that resulted from the Methacton School District vs. Worcester Township, et al., in the Court of Common Pleas of Montgomery County. This agreement, once approved by all parties, will allow the district to move forward with the installation of lights on the stadium and auxiliary turf fields.

"This has been a long journey, and while we are not yet finished, this is a significant step forward," School Board President S. Christian Nascimento said, "Thanks to everyone in the community that has supported this project for so long."

A presentation that outlines the main terms of the agreement can be found in the School Board section of the district's website here. The Worcester Township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the agreement during a meeting on October 13. The neighbors, who are the remaining parties to the matter, are expected to provide their response to the agreement on October 15. Once this is complete, the district will communicate this additional information in order to keep our community apprised of our progress.

Superintendent Dr. David Zerbe then provided the Board with a presentation outlining his recommendation for a vendor to assist the district in conducting a second enrollment projection and, if needed, use the enrollment projections and initial related data to assist the district with re-drawing of boundary lines. Following the presentation and discussion, the Board tabled the vendor selection agenda item, requesting that Dr. Zerbe provide some additional details from two of the vendors, Citygate and Milone & MacBroom.

Board Notes

The Methacton School District's Board of School Directors meets each month. Committee meetings of the Board are typically held on the first three Tuesdays of the month, followed by the regular board meeting on the fourth Tuesday (except during the month of December). Regular Board meetings take place in the MHS LGI, and all residents are invited and encouraged to attend. Committee meetings may take place in the Board Room at the Farina Center, or the MHS LGI. Meeting agendas are posted to agenda manager, and start times and locations are posted on the District's website. Please confirm meeting time and location before attending.
