Ocean Power
Why wave power?
http://www.voki.com/pickup.php?scid=9092375&height=267&width=200There are two other main ways that scientists think we can capture the power of waves as well.
Under water barrages range from sphere type objects connected to the ocean bed to long tubes that stretch over a long distance. When the waves cause them spin, they move a turbine and create electricity.
Reservoir, A reservoir takes advantage of the waves, moving water into a reservoir on the coastline. As water moves back out into the ocean it is forced down a tube and turns the blades of turbine. The turbine then converts the energy into electricity.
how tidal energy is used
http://www.voki.com/pickup.php?scid=9092329&height=267&width=200Tidal Fences - These are smaller structures than a barrage. A number of vertical turbines form a fence between two landmasses. When the tide moves in or out, the turbines spin and generate electricity.
Tidal Turbines - These are individual turbines placed anywhere there is a strong tidal flow.
this will explain how tidal barrages work.
disadvantage of solar energy
However, the batteries are large and heavy and need storage space. They also need replacing from time to time.
