Marysville Message
Friday October 22 ,2021
Dear Marysville Families
Happy Friday,
Next week is already the last week of October!
We will be celebrating with a Fall Festival during the school day on Friday October 29th. We are bringing a pumpkin patch to Marysville and all students will:
Pick a pumpkin
Decorate a pumpkin
Receive Fall treats
Participate in a Costume parade if they want
Students are welcome to wear a costume to school if they would like on Friday October 29th.
- Costumes must be grade school appropriate
- Please do not send any costume accessories (weapons etc.) to school
- Students still need to participate in class so they need to move and see easily
- Everyone must still wear a well fitting face mask that completely covers mouth and nose.
We could use parent volunteers for set up and clean up on the day of the event, as well as one parent volunteer per class to help with pumpkin decorating outdoors.
Please contact Audrey Rozell arozell@impactnw.org if you are interested in volunteering.

Indoor Lunch
The weather is definitely getting cooler and wetter. We will be eating inside, 6ft or more apart in the hallways outside of the classrooms on any wet or below 50 degree day.
Exterior doors will be open at both ends of the hallways to provide more air flow.
There will be assigned seats for eating.
Picture Day
Thank you to the pictured day volunteers. We had a wonderful picture day experience on Tuesday. Our make up picture day will be on Monday December 6th.
K-12 COVID-19 Screening Program
The OHSU screening test kit program is well underway. We have 60 students currently receiving tests and around 30 more ready to begin once we receive test kit labels from OHSU.
You may still opt in to participate. Just complete the two testing forms and return them to school.
OHSU Authorization Form:
OHA Opt-in Form (under 15):
OHSU will send an email to you with the test results 1-2 days after the sample is collected or dropped off at your school. If the student tests positive or inconclusive, you will get a phone call from a nurse from an OHSU COVID-19 hotline. We will use the primary email and phone number your school has on file for you to contact you about test results.
Site Council (live link)
We would like to start meeting again as a Marysville Site Council.
Please let me know if you are interested in participating. Meetings at this time will be virtual.
Mutual Aid Donations for the Marysville Community
We know that many families are still experiencing COVID related challenges especially with loss of work due to quarantines and childcare issues.
Impact Northwest, our community partner is able to provide temporary assistance to families experiencing a need through a partnership between SUN and our School.
Donations to Impact Northwest can be earmarked to go directly to the Marysville community and be available to support need as it occurs in our community.
If you are interested in providing a donation
- Go to the Impact Northwest - Make an Impact webpage
- Select the Donate button
- Choose your donation amount (it can even be ongoing)
- In the Special Programs of Support section, type in Marysville School
- Complete your donation
Please reach out if you have any questions, comments or a need.
Warmly,
Cathy Murray
