SLP Schools Online: Grades K-6
December 15, 2021 Newsletter

Greetings,
Trimester 2 is underway. Learning advocates have designed the learning and are prepping new resources for students, and from my observations, students are equally enthusiastic. We are quickly coming up on Winter Break and this newsletter outlines some important reminders and things for you to know.
- Winter Break: Next Wednesday will be our last day of school before Winter Break begins Thursday, December 23. Our schools will be closed December 23-December 31. School will resume after break on Monday, January 3.
- Report Cards: Your child’s Trimester 1 report card will be available today, December 15, in Campus Parent Portal. Please watch this video to learn how to access report cards in Campus Parent Portal. As a reminder, report cards are just one of many ways we report on student learning throughout the year. Report card grades reflect student learning, and teachers look at evidence of learning, over time, to determine where students are at in their learning at the time of report cards.
- Trimester 2 Resources: Many classrooms will have new resource packs available for pick-up over the next few days. Be watching for information from your child’s learning advocate about when resources for Tri 2 will be available at the District Services Center. It is important that past resources be returned at the same time. Learning advocates will share information regarding which learning resources will need to be returned. THANK YOU, in advance for returning these items!
- Attendance: When students show up to learn and engage in meaningful learning activities, it matters. It matters for our students today and for their future. Attendance is taken and recorded at the end of each day based on student attendance and engagement in the "live" sessions for the day. Additionally, students must submit work each day that shows evidence of their engagement in the asynchronous learning experiences. If you have any questions about how attendance is determined for SLP Online K-6, connect with your learning advocate or me. We will be happy to clarify anything for you.
Thank you for all that you do each day to support your child in their online learning experience. Your family is appreciated! Please reach out to me or the learning advocates with any questions or concerns.
Take care,
Kimberly Fehringer
