iRead, iReady, Redbird ... UPDATE!
Redbird should be accessed by students during the Math Workshop Block.
This change goes into effect on 1.16.2018.
Reading & Writing Units of Study Updates
The 2nd Semester Come Up: All In, Streamlined, & Aligned!
*Read Alouds are facilitated everyday for 15 minutes. Standards-based comprehension strategies are modeled through think alouds.
*Shared Reading is facilitated everyday for 15 minutes. Blast Phonics skills, reading behaviors, and fluency are modeled through think alouds and student participation.
*Mini Lessons are under 15 minutes with explicit demonstrations and student practice.
*At least 2 Small Groups are seen for both Reading and Writing Workshop.
*We are fully released from stations.
*IRead and IReady will be used during RTI for all homerooms.
*Reading Flex Fridays are used for explicit Reading Standards Mini Lessons.
*Writing Flex Fridays are used for explicit Language/Grammar Mini Lessons.

- Out of the 42 students total enrolled in her Literacy blocks, all 42 have active accounts in use!
- 88% of students met 45+ minutes of iReady instruction last week!
- The class had an 83% pass rate last week!
These stats triple Liberty Point's school average last week.

3rd-5th Grade Math: Ms. Valerie is Back in the Building
Ms. Valerie will be her on Monday, January 29th & Tuesday, January 30th for more professional development (PD). It's your time to SHINE!!! She will observe you in action, provide feedback, and additional support to ensure that your lessons are executed with fidelity. Below you will find the schedule. I will speak directly with some teachers who schedule will be affected.

Math Highlights of the Week
Ms. E. Johnson continued the learning over the impromptu winter snow days. Her students were persistent in carrying out their learning of 2-D and 3-D shapes.
