BRIGHT SPARX CLUB 2018
The Bright Sparx Club is a partnership initiative between Kwinana Industries Council (KIC), CSBP, Kleenheat and Murdoch University, running for nine weeks after school.
Year 9 students were given the opportunity to apply for the program which focusses on raising confidence and aspirations of students, whilst also building an awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
Murdoch University Student Ambassadors coordinate the program activities, CSBP & Kleenheat employees act as mentors and guides throughout the program and attend sessions relevant to their expertise.
Students will participate in a range of STEM based activities including excursions to CSBP (Kwinana) and Murdoch University. The program will provide students with an opportunity to work together and share experiences, raise their awareness of future technologies, and STEM careers.
This year Emmanuel Catholic College congratulates our three successful applicants; Larah Roberts, Ritika Nair and Kaiana Wadia.

TRY A TRADE PROGRAMS
These are organised by various training bodies to give students a taste of working in a trade environment and the work involved in a range of trades. This year we have had two groups of students trialing bricklaying and tiling and one group trying their hand at plumbing and painting.
Students are encouraged to ‘have a go’ to start to explore the options and trades open to them.
Hopefully this will then lead to positive pathway planning for their future career, where students can decide what courses they need to choose.
