A Message from Dr. Frischkorn

Good Afternoon Mayfield!

This week our students and staff had a wonderful time celebrating our school spirit week that lead up to our Winterfest that is occurring on Friday, January 24, 2020. We have over 250 students signed up to attend the Winterfest. This is just another example of how we are looking for ways to continue to celebrate our student's success throughout the year. This month alone we had our Student of the Month Celebration, the First Semester Honor Roll Ceremony, and our Winterfest student social! I want to thank all the staff who works together to help make these event possible for our students.

With gratitude,

Dr. Donald Frischkorn

Thank you to our Assistant Principals at Mayfield

This past week was Principals Appreciation week. I mention this because I want to be sure to highlight the amazing work that Mr. Moore, our 5th grade assistant principal, and Mrs. Huntley, our 6th grade assistant principal, do on a daily basis. Our school community is extremely fortunate to have these two individuals serving our students and community. I can also say that the three of us love working together and love working for Manassas City Public Schools.

Mayfield Parent Advisory Meeting

Monday, Feb. 17th, 7pm

9400 Mayfield Court

Old Town Manassas, VA

We are going to host our first Mayfield Parent Advisory Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for the school administration to share our mission and our vision with our parents and to help them understand the type of learning environment that we hope to offer to our students on a daily basis. All parents are welcome to attend.

RSVPs are enabled for this event.

Reminder: The School Day Starts at 7:15 AM

This is a friendly reminder that the school day starts at 7:15 AM. I have been noticing that our car drop off line is getting a little backed up right at 7:15 and students are showing up late to school. It's important that students enter the school building before 7:15 AM so that they are ready and prepared for the school day. If you are a car rider, please adjust your morning schedules to make sure that you are arriving to school on-time.

At Mayfield Intermediate School we not only focus on the academic learning, but we also focus on social emotional learning and providing students with experiences that they will remember once they leave Mayfield and move on to new adventures.
