It's almost that time!

Piano Lessons and St. Therese School Student Choir
We apologize for the confusion that was caused by an earlier message blast. There will be a drama program in the future for our St. Therese thespians, but we need to attend to the details so that it is an open an equitable opportunity for every single student and family. Until then, we are very happy to announce the return of a student choir, free of charge. Mrs. Arnold will also offer piano lessons after school to our students, for a fee.
Pardon the haste, but our parish musical director, Bernadette Arnold would love to get practices going immediately, so we can honor Father Jeff before he takes off to his new role at Mt. Angel. Father Jeff was integral in hiring Ms. Arnold to do just that, so we agreed that it would be perfect if we can have some students lending their voices to the music at masses, to leave Father Jeff with song to remember us! Details are below. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Arnold barnold@stmichaelsandy.org

Parent Teacher Conferences
When: Monday November 20th and Tuesday November 21. Conferences on Monday will begin later in the morning and last until later into the evening. Tuesday will be an earlier day, as we've tried to be aware that every family's schedule is unique. Conferences will last 15 minutes each. (I would send out the link to sign-ups now, but I appreciate your patience as we try to accommodate our teachers, who have lives and kids and holiday stress too!)
Where: St. Therese School.
Parents will receive a SignUp Genius for conferences no later than tomorrow, via email.
Who: Parents and teachers only, will be present for conferences in kindergarten through 4th grade. In grades 5 through 8, teachers request that students come join in the conferences.
Parents of children in kindergarten through 5th grade will sign up with their child's homeroom teacher.
Parents of middle school students may choose 1 teacher with whom to meet. Just as an example, your child may be in 6th grade. You don't have to necessarily meet with Mr. Rymer. If your student is doing just fine in Social Studies and Tech (taught by Mr. Rymer), but your greatest concern is around ELA, then you may choose to confer with Mrs. Baumbach (ELA teacher, not 6th grade homeroom).
Specialists will be present during conferences also if you would like to check in with them too. Our teachers are always willing to meet with parents, so if you would like to have sit down with more than one teacher, that's fine. Our teachers welcome and appreciate the level of parental involvement and partnership. I request that you understand that our teachers can't necessarily meet with everyone next week. It's just not possible. They have long, long days that start early and go into the evenings. They may be meeting with 30+ families, before they go home after 9 to see their families. Just send an email with a request to meet and they will find the next best time. I promise.
SignUp Genius coming soon. Very soon!
Food Drive Begins Tomorrow!
Themes are fun! But don't feel like you have to follow each day accordingly. If you have that case of ramen in the garage, granola bars that your kids decided they didn't like after the first 10 cases (like mine do), or a case of water, by all means, please bring in those donations! The daily themes is just to liven things up a bit.
Big thanks to Mrs. Baumbach, Student Council, and St. V's.
Daily class winners will get something from Mr. Schoning. Could be an extra recess, maybe an ice cream party, free dress pass...big winners for the week might even enjoy a pizza party. Who knows?
Get in touch with us.
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Mrs. Barnett, our registrar and office manager knows all! Call, email, or drop by and just say hello.
