HOLY WEEK (April 2 - April 8)

As part of our Faith Formation curriculum, Fr. Tim will be holding a very special "Teaching Mass" for all of our students and parents. All are invited to join us on Sunday, April 16 at 6:30pm.
Ideas for ALMSGIVING as a FAMILY
KIDS helping KIDS for Saint's Place
As we enter Holy Week, we continue to practice the Three Pillars of Lent - Praying, Fasting, and Almsgiving (helping others).
In addition to saving our spare change for the CRS Rice Bowl Collection (collected through April 16), we have another wonderful way in which KIDS CAN HELP KIDS is by collecting SCHOOL SUPPLIES to support Saint’s Place in Rochester.
The goal of Saint’s Place is to “Welcome the Stranger” by providing clothing, furniture, school supplies, household goods, tutoring and scholarships to newly arriving refugees in Rochester. Founded in 1998, Saint’s Place has served over 16,000 refugees. Along with our parish-wide Penny Sunday collection this month (April 22/23), our Faith Formation families will be collecting SCHOOL SUPPLIES to coincide with our monetary donation.
If your family would like to participate, they are in need of supplies such as notebooks, index cards, loose leaf paper, markers, pens, #2 pencils, erasers, and other similar school items. You are invited to bring the supplies to your classes on April 16 or April 23, bring them to any Mass, or drop them off at any church entrance through April 23. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!!
Operation Rice Bowl
Catholic Relief Services organizes a program each year called Operation Rice Bowl, which is a great way to practice almsgiving during Lent. The idea is that you keep a cardboard bowl in your home and put in spare change to help those in need throughout the world. During this holy season, it is especially important to come together as a family and reflect on those in our community and beyond who are in need.
A small box was sent home with every Faith Formation family at the beginning of Lent. For those who choose to participate, you are invited to drop your CRS Rice Bowl off at any time to the Faith Formation Office through Sunday, April 16. Thank you for your generosity!
