Traffic Changes Coming
I have shared your concern about the continued issues with traffic on Jefferson Parkway during arrival and especially dismissal times. It is time for a change as it is so contentious every afternoon with someone feeling the need to swear at my staff or myself every day. In working with the City of Northfield, we plan to change the traffic pattern entering and exiting our school beginning on Oct. 25, 2021, which is right after the MEA break.
The plan will change the entrance to the school from Jefferson Parkway to Division Street (Highway 246) with traffic being one-way on campus and exiting at Jefferson Parkway. This approach will allow us to double the number of vehicles that can be lined up on our school property instead of backing up onto Jefferson Parkway. We have a limited number of options to impact the traffic problems on school grounds positively, and this change is the best one we have available to us.
More details will be coming in future updates over the next several weeks, but I wanted you to know that this change is coming.
