Make-Up Exams
Per GCPS policy, any missed final exam will be entered as Zero (0) in the gradebook. We will offer make up opportunities daily Thursday 5/26 and Friday, 5/27 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Students can be dropped off and picked up at the front entrance. Parents will be contacted when the student is finished for the day.
Carnegie Credit Decision Deadline | June 3rd
This is a reminder to all parents of rising 9th graders that you must go to the Parent Portal or use the ParentVue mobile app to accept credit for ALL courses where you want your student to receive the Carnegie Unit Credit for high school. Information and directions for this process are on the Lanier Middle School website. Please read the information and watch the videos there to complete the process for acceptance.
Carnegie Credit Courses include:
- Algebra 1
- Accelerated Algebra 1
- Introduction to Business Technology (IBT)
- Introduction to Digital Technology (IDT)
- HS Physical Science
- Spanish
IMPORTANT: Carnegie credit MUST be accepted by June 3rd, 2022, or credit will NOT be awarded.

Summer Meal Resource
Food Finder
With summer break upon us, we know some students may face food insecurity while away from school buildings. FoodFinder is a mobile and web app created by a graduate of Georgia public schools that allows families to find food distribution sites (including food pantries, drive-through distributions, and school meal providers) based on their location.
The app is free, not-for-profit, and available in the following locations:

Gwinnett Summer Meals
Gwinnett County Community Services is offering free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches.
Curbside pick-up of nutritious meals is for 18 years or younger or those 19 years of age or older with a physical or mental impairment. View the summer meals locations map.

Camps
Lanier High School Baseball Camp
Coach May and Coach Hawkins will be running a summer program for all current players and rising 9th graders. Rising 8th Grade students are also welcome to attend this camp!
Tuesday and Thursday beginning June 7 from 1:30 – 5:30 p.m. at the high school baseball field.
The program will be run by Coach May and Coach Hawkins. It will focus on development and getting the players used to their coaching style.
- Strength and mobility training
- Live pens
- Machine BP
- Situational BP
- Mass ground ball and fly balls
- Competition work
- Light scrimmages
The cost is $250 and payment can be made to the Lanier Dugout Club via Venmo - @Lanier-DugoutClub. Please be sure NOT to select that this is for a goods/service. Also, note that this is for the Summer Program and the player’s name.
Gwinnett County is moving to a new application for physicals called Rank One. You will need to set up an account in order to add necessary documents, including an updated physical, in order to participate in the Summer Program. Attached are instructions on how to set up an account as well as the physical form. this is what will be used next season, if you get a physical for your player during the summer please upload it as soon as possible to Rank One. Players will not be able to participate in the fall workouts unless their physical is up-to-date. Physicals are good for one year from the date of the physical.
