Did You Know.....

Each week I try to call out one thing about our school or staff that parents and students may not know...

Thanks to the work of our amazing PTO, our book fair is featured in the Scholastic Newsletter. Thank you PTO.

Thank you for helping me reach my goal in St. Baldrick's

Each year I try to get a team together of students willing to cut their hair for a good cause- To support research and treatment of childhood cancer. I want to thank those that contributed to this amazing event. Although final totals are not in, I believe the Lawrence event raised over $150,000 dollars. Thank you.

LTPS to test water in all schools

LTPS prepares to test water within schools

In light of what has occurred in some Newark Schools and other locations re: elevated levels of lead in the water, LTPS has put out a bid to have water tested within our schools.

Spring Break is coming. What are you going to do?

With Spring Break starting next Friday, make sure you plan some fun family activities. The Mercer County Library is open all week so take the kids up there. Check this link out for hours and activities: http://www.mcl.org/branches/lawrbr.html

Slackwood Represents and Celebrates

Each year Slackwood School participates in the township Memorial Day Parade. This year, the Township is celebrating the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor and the 25th Anniversary of Desert Storm. If you are a Slackwoodian parent, grandparent or family member, we and the Township would like to recognize you during the parade. Please contact me at jbilly@ltps.org and we will make you part of this celebration.

Missing something? Check out the Lost and Found!

Each day I walk by the Lost and Found, which is directly across from the library and I wonder, "How could someone not know that they are missing a winter jacket?" Do you wonder that too? If you are missing clothing, including gloves, hats, sweatshirts, gloves, etc. make sure that you check out the Lost and Found.

One way to avoid having things fall into the abyss is to make sure you write your child's name on clothing items. If there is a name on it, we'll be sure to get it back to them. Put it on the inside tag or collar. Anywhere we can find it will be helpful.

Slackwood Elementary School

Slackwood is the oldest school in the Lawrence Township Public Schools. We provide education for students in grades Kindergarten through third grade.
