Francium is classified as a metal and belongs to the alkali metal group. It is a solid and has 87 protons, 136 neutrons, and 87 electrons which allows it to have a an atomic mass of 223. Francium also has a boiling point of 677 degrees celsius and a melting point of 27 degrees celsius.
Interesting Facts
Francium was discovered by Marguerite Perey in Paris, France. Since it was discovered scientist have found out that Francium is extremely rare and only has a maximum half-life of 22 minutes. It also a heavy but very unstable element. Shockingly there are only 30 grams of Francium that exist on the earth at any given time.
