What is Melanoma?
Melanoma is a form of skin cancer that can be treated by Radiation, Chemotherapy, and by taking a certain kind of pills. The color of the ribbon that is used for Melanoma is black.

About 86 percent of Melanoma case's are because of Ultraviolet Radiation from the sun.
Who is most likely to get melanoma?
Younger people are more at risk to getting Melanoma because they are outside more and tend to go tanning more. Or people with a disfigured mole on there skin.
How can you increase the chance of getting Melanoma?
If you go tanning or if you are outside a lot and expose your skin to the sun then you can increase your chances of getting Melanoma.
How can you prevent it?
You can prevent getting Melanoma by wearing sunscreen when going outside, sit in shade when sitting outside, and put lotion on your skin at least once a week.
What kind of fundraisers are there to promote awareness of Melanoma?
There are many ways to have fundraisers in for Melanoma like you can have Banquets and marathons (but there aren't to many of them) for this and many more other kinds of cancers.
