C.E. King High School
From the Principal's Office!
January is school board appreciation month!
Across the nation, school boards are being recognized for their commitment to public school systems. In Sheldon ISD, we have seven school board members that are dedicated to the success of our students. We are very fortunate to have individuals who care enough to volunteer countless hours to make the tough decisions before them. If you have an opportunity, please be sure to thank them. Our campus programs, facilities and initiatives would not be possible without their consideration and approval. During our school board meeting next week, each campus will donate a book in their name to the campus libraries.
"Saying thank you is more than good manners, it is good spirituality".

Announcements:
1. A big thank you to everyone! This week we were extremely busy trying to get ourselves and the students re-acquainted with the idea of school. Please continue to be visible in the hallways. This will help our students move along and maintain the best hallway behavior. Remember...no one out for the 1st and last 15 minutes of class.
2. SMART lunch will start this week for the second semester. Remember, All teachers and staff are to be on duty at their assigned time. Active monitoring is required and your attention should not be compromised with personal items and responsibilities such as grading, reading a book etc.. Engage yourself in SMART lunch!!!! I guarantee our issues will continue to decrease!
3. On Thursday, 01/14/2016 at 11:30 a.m. , senior Trayveon Williams will have a signing ceremony with Texas A&M University in the new competition gym. We will announce this throughout the week but all are welcome to attend if available.
4. The Baylor College of Medicine will host a vaccination drive for 12th grade students for HPV and Meningitis. For eligible students, these vaccinations will be free of charge. As you all know, the meningitis vaccine is required for collegiate students under the age of 30. Our seniors will have an informational meeting on the morning of 1/19/2016. The boys and girls will have separate assemblies that day. The actual vaccination date is 1/26/2016. Seniors will have an appointment if they have signed up for the vaccine(s).
5. Our next campus meeting will be Monday, January 25, 2016. Please make arrangements for personal responsibilities. The meeting agenda will be full so plan to stay for an hour.
6. This Friday, 01/15/2016, there will be a mandatory Fishbowl Friday for all teachers. The topic(s) will include student discipline and classroom management. The Academy Principals will be the facilitators of these meetings. Please be prepared to be educated on the discipline process and student disciplinary placement monitoring. Also, there will be time to share your concerns and gather ideas from one another about classroom management strategies. See you there!
7. Dress Code; I appreciate you all for sending students to the office that need to be in compliance. Last week, we ran out of zip ties for males who were sagging but we are back in business! If you see students in your classroom with sagging pants, we can fix their issue! Let's all do our part. Remember our big 3 (sagging pants, revealing clothing and shaving).
