Mental Health Awareness For Teachers 😊
The years following COVID-19 have been challenging for everyone as we try to get back to normal. Our teachers have certainly been affected by the pandemic, and other issues that students bring to the classroom everyday. A high school teacher whose passion is mental health, and our school psychologist explore ways to cope with stress ☀️ and how to feel better using some 📚 useful techniques.
Nixa High School Archery Team wins National Championship
Nixa High School's archery team competed in the National Archery Championship and placed 1st place overall!
The following are the individual placements at the JROTC Western National Championship:
- Allen McNeal - tied for 1st place, boys division
- Hailey Anderson - 1st place, girls division
- Lily Lliteras - 3rd place, girls division
- Andrew Smith - 3rd place, boys division
- Aiden Ewald - 8th place, boys division
- Shaun Mountjoy - 11th place, boys division
Nixa High School DECA Students Place at the International Career Development Conference
Nixa High School DECA students competed at the International Career Development Conference last week. Isaiah Holgerson received a Top 10 International Finalist & Top 10 Presentation in Business Services Marketing.
Amarra Fusco received a Finalist & Top 10 Exam placement in Professional Selling.
The following students also received the DECA Award of Excellence:
Amarra Fusco, Anshu Giliyaru, Jack Harris, Isaiah Holgerson, Cade Horning, Landon Myers, and Jacob Rhoades.

Nixa Choirs Earn Exemplary Ratings at MSHSAA Large Ensemble Festival
Nixa Concert Choir and Chamber Choir participated in the MSHSAA Large Ensemble Festival, held at Logan-Rogersville High School.
Both choirs received Exemplary ratings (the highest an ensemble can receive) from all three judges, and Exemplary in sight singing (the choir had 4 minutes to study and sing an unknown piece, a capella).
Some of the comments from the judges:

- "Your audience became so engaged that we were a part of your performance!"
Nixa High School Band MSHSAA State Solo & Ensemble Results
This past Saturday 23 Nixa High School band students presented 17 events at the MSHSAA State Solo & Ensemble in Columbia. Of the 17 events that were performed, there were three gold ratings, 11 silver ratings and three bronze ratings.

Nixa Public Schools Staff Appreciation Days

Kids Dance Clinic | Saturday, May 7 | Deadline to Register is Tomorrow
Kids Dance Clinic is on Saturday, May 7, at 10:00am - 12:30 pm.
Parents come back at 12:00pm to watch all performances that the dancers have learned. Performances will wrap up around 12:30 pm.
Cost $20 - The clinic includes learning a dance, tote bag, and poms.
Pre-registration only through school pay and is open to any students K-5 in Nixa Public Schools. The deadline to register is May 3.
