Weekly Update Owl #7

3rd Week of Hybrid Learning

Halloween at Hogwarts

While we can't do Halloween at Hogwarts (Clough) like we normally do, we will still be making sure that we have festive days at school. Please encourage your witch or wizard to wear FALL colors to school on either Tuesday or Friday. You can also send it a special snack on these days if you wish. We'll be integrating some Halloween literature through #classroombookaday and science. I know that everything is a little different this year but we will work hard to make it special. All students are welcome to wear their costumes to our Wednesday remote lessons. I know I will be wearing mine!
Big picture

Weekly Workflow Checklist

We are still struggling to get a few students to complete and turn in work on their remote days. We don't assign a lot of work. The work we assign is an important extension of the work that is done in-person. We can't sugarcoat this: students who don't complete their at home work will, over time, fall behind their peers. At the very least, please encourage your child to attend his or her house meetings during their remote days. We really do want to support our students when they are remote but we can't do this if they don't show up. Please reach out and let us know if there is anything additional we can do to support your learner at home.

Weekly Workflow Checklist

iReady

We will begin to administer a district assessment called iReady this week when your students are learning in-person. The students will take two online assessments on their iPads. We will try to spread out the time spent working on these assessments so that your child can do his or her best and not get too bogged down. Please simply encourage your child to do his or her best. We are hopeful that the results from these assessments will enable us to better know and instruct each child.

Visit this LINK to learn more about iReady. Please know that we will administer the assessments at school. There is nothing you need to do at home at this time.
