Tech FREE Challenge
Are you up for a challenge? Can you do it? We are encouraging families to a TECH FREE day or days over the holidays. If that is too much for you, how about a "device FREE dinner"? This means you have to put your phones and computers away, also no digital gaming for the kids either.
With the coming days off this is the chance to reconnect with your children. Tell them that the principal made you do it.
I have attached some resources about this type of challenge and also some tips on what you can do while you are unplugged. You can start by reading a book, visiting your local park, paying a board game, coloring, or just strolling through the local mall. Hit Grapevine's main street and enjoy the lights, or decide to cook a family meal together! The options are limitless.
If you choose to accept this assignment, please write about your experience and bring it back to me (in the office) after the holidays. I will be sending home a commitment form with the students today and ask that they return it by Thursday, 12/21. Please try to return that to school so that we know how many brave souls will accept this challenge.
In the end, I hope that you have some special moments connecting with your children and that they learn how valuable face-to-face minutes can be with those around them.
