Class of 2020
Will there be changes to the graduation requirements for this year's seniors?
There have been a handful of waived requirements for this year's graduating class. The majority of our students have already completed these requirements. They are:
1. The CPR and Heimlich Maneuver statute
2. The Missouri and U.S. Constitution statute
3. The Missouri Civics Education Initiative statute
4. The requirement for all graduates to take Personal Finance - however, students currently enrolled in Personal Finance will not be removed from the course and a failing grade will remain on their transcript.
What about A+? Will there be changes to the requirements for this year's seniors?
Yes, there are temporary waivers/accommodations that only apply to the 2020 seniors.
1. 95% Attendance: Students still must have 95% overall attendance from grades 9-12. If students are below 95%, they will still be given the opportunity to appeal their attendance. This will be sent soon via email by Mrs. Hickman.
2. GPA: Students still must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA. However, 2020 seniors who have a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end of either the fall 2019 or spring 2020 semesters will be eligible for the A+ scholarship.
3. 50 Hours of Tutoring: The number of tutoring hours has been reduced temporarily to 25 to accommodate those students who are unable to complete the 50 hours prior to graduation.
4. Algebra I EOC: The Algebra I EOC requirement is waived for all 2020 seniors, including those who have already taken the exam but did not score Advanced or Proficient. This also exempts the 2020 seniors from having to meet the ACT math subscore/high school GPA alternative.
