March Is Reading Month - 4th Graders Read, "Because of Winn-Dixie"
As part of March is Reading Month, Mrs. Austin's and Mrs. Morgan's 4th graders are excited to read, "Because of Winn-Dixie." They are doing a novel study and literature circle around the themes in the book.

Mrs. Blanzy's Kindergarteners work on 3-D Shapes!
We made 3D cubes this week out of clay and pipe cleaners. Then we used the cube to count how many faces, corners (vertices), and edges it had.

News from the Gymnasium: "Gym Shorts" by Mr. Chapp!
NO SUNSHINE???...NO PROBLEM!!! The CDC recommends at least 60 minutes of moderate-vigorous physical activity per day for kids ages 6-17. Sometimes when it’s too rainy, cold, or dark outside, it is difficult for students to get outside and exercise. In February, we talked about some other physical activity options if they are stuck inside. You can find plenty of active games, challenges, dances, yoga, stretching, and more online with a simple search. Or, some video game consoles offer games that include some activity as well. It’s almost always better to get outside and play for daily exercise, but students now have ideas and a plan for when they can’t. At Beck, classes got their exercise (and groove) on playing Dance Dance Revolution as well as trying a few online stretching and flexibility videos. -Mr. Chapp - Beck Physical Education
