Associate Principal for a Day!
Congratulations to Henry Anderson for winning "Principal for a Day" at our All Aboard fundraiser! Henry was Associate Principal on Tuesday and did an excellent job observing classrooms and encouraging students to do their best work!
Virtue Assemblies
We will be having a monthly all-school assembly to highlight a particular virtue. Each month, our assembly will be led by a different grade. Our October assembly, led by our spectacular second graders, focused on the virtue of kindness. Our next assembly will be on Thursday, November 17th at 10:15 and will be led by the Kindergartners. They will be teaching us about the importance of being grateful! Assemblies will last approximately 15 minutes.
October H.A.L.O Board
Look at our amazing H.A.L.O board for the month of October! Thank you to all of our students for showing extra faith, responsibility, teamwork, leadership, and kindness!
Veterans Spirit Day
Students may wear red, white, and blue out of dress code tops with dress code bottoms on Friday.
Hello from the Counselor!
Hi! My name is Ms. Rutz, and I am the school counselor at St. Mary and St. Gabriel. I am so excited to be a part of the Zephyr community! In my free time, I like to be outdoors, golfing, skiing, and traveling. I also enjoy riding horses! I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology and my master’s degree in counseling. I am passionate about helping students have positive life experiences and assist in creating a strong school family.
It has been a joy getting to know all your children and guiding them toward success. There are many pieces to my position as a school counselor. I teach guidance classes with each grade level from 4K through 5th grade once a week. I am also here to help all children with expanding their social-emotional skill set. Some students might want to connect with me on how things are going weekly throughout the year and my door is always open for that. Along with that, I might meet with students individually, in small or large groups. I connect with students for various reasons, such as working through conflict, problem solving, talking about struggles they might be having, celebrating the positive things happening in their life, or focusing on how they can be their best self. Ultimately, I am another resource that your children and you can reach out to.
I look forward to working with your children throughout the year and please feel free to reach out for any reason. 😊 You can email me at: lrutz@smcatholicschools.org
