Whitney celebrates veterans' day
For more photos from the Whitney Veterans' Day celebration, visit our website by clicking here.
It is unfortunate that the facilities at Whitney do not allow for substantial parent attendance at programs like this. We know that you would like to watch your son or daughter perform. However our space is so limited that we cannot offer open access to parents. Thank you for your understanding.

bad news - good news
But Whitney is fortunate. Mrs. Shostek is able to return as a long-term substitute. Her knowledge and experience mean that Whitney students will have full access to the Media Center and all of its programs and resources. Whitney is truly blessed to have someone who can step in to this type of position and have full knowledge of the Whitney community. Welcome back, Mrs. Shostek!

breakfast with a buddy
This week, the PTA held "Breakfast with a Buddy" on Thursday and Friday, November 12th and 13th. Students and family members gathered early to share a meal in the school environment. This school is a large part of the lives of each and every one of our students. But all too often, parents and other family members never get to see the inside of the building. Breakfast with a Buddy is the kind of program that offers an opportunity for our students to show family members their school. I helps develop school pride and a true connection between the school and the community. On Thursday, every table in the gym was full. But on Friday, parents and students had to seek overflow seating in the halls. Thank you family members for your overwhelming support of this program! Next time, we will have to consider adding days!! Special thanks to our PTA, in particular to Mrs. Kuznik, for making this event happen.
Unfortunately, no Whitney photographers were able to document the event. If you took pictures, and would like to share with me, please email to jmartin@scsmustangs.org. We will select some for use in next week's newsletter, and possible as part of our website.
pAPERLESS GRADE CARDS
This is a reminder that report cards are now online and they can be accessed by logging into PASS. This is a big part of the district's efforts to make use of technology to improve school-community communication. It appears that our first round of paperless grade cards was a success. But we are looking for your feedback. If you have any problems logging into your PASS account, please contact our main office at 440-572-7180. If you do not have internet access you can contact the school for a printed card. If you already did this, please ignore.
