This year, the parent we will be honoring is Traci Mills. She is very deserving! She has 2 students at Proctor, and one at the middle school.
The student we are recognizing is a 5th grader, Cara Kirksey, who is in Stacey Martin's class.
Friday: 1/11
7:45 - 8:15 - Coffee Talk with the Principal (Before school this time, see below!)
Because of the extreme cold we've been experiencing lately in the mornings I would like to hold our Flag/Award assembly in the Art Center. Since we have hit the middle of the school year, I think it is important to remind students of the rules, and use this assembly day as a PBIS reboot. Parents can still be invited to attend, but combining the flag assembly with the PBIS assembly will help us not have to hold an additional assembly this month.
Here is the schedule:
K/1st - 8:15 - 8:45
2nd/3rd - 8:50 - 9:25
4th/5th - 9:30 - 10:00
Flag/Award Assembly - Please make sure to add the names of the students who will be getting award:

Welcome Proctor's New School Secretary, Hilda Kwan!
Ms. Kwan is a highly educated and skilled individual who brings a wealth of knowledge to our office team. She is a very involved parent at Proctor who currently serves on the PTA Board as Director of Special Programs. Ms. Kwan is a friendly, enthusiastic individual who always pitches in to help with whatever is needed at Proctor. She has excellent organization skills and is a great planner. Ms. Kwan also has technology experience, and will be instrumental with helping our new school website stay current, and updated. She is fluent in both English and Chinese, which will be very helpful with interacting with our English Learner families.
Please welcome Ms. Kwan, and wish her well the next time you see her around campus or in the office. We are still getting all her HR paperwork completed, therefore Yvette Jennings will continue to start out our week until Hilda is cleared to begin.
Speech Therapist Update!
As many of you know, the District hired Kim Bolich as Proctor’s new Speech Therapist, to replace Rosa Hurtado. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of employment, Kim Bolich has resigned her position as Proctor’s Speech Therapist due to unforeseen health issues. Upon hearing this news, the District immediately began its search for another qualified candidate to fill this position.
Upcoming Events to make Note of!
January 21st - No School, MLK Day
January 22nd - Lori Ozkus will be on site all day in classrooms, and will present a PD during our Staff Meeting later in the day. I send out more information about this day as I conference with her to develop an agenda.
January 25th - Progress Reports are due to go home to all students who are not meeting standards in any subject or for behavior. An ILP also needs to be created.
