CUSTER SCHOOL DISTRICT TIDBITS
Week Ending May 27, 2023

All Custer School District Students will be dismissed on Thursday, May 25 @ Noon
FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
- Parents: If you’ve sent medication to school for your child and your child didn’t use it all, please stop by to pick-up it up. Medications not claimed by May 25, will not be there in August, when school resumes.
- Several dozen library books have not been returned as of today. Please return them to avoid receiving a bill for the book.
- Have all school athletic uniforms, etc., been returned?
- Notify the school office of address, phone number and/or email address changes. Report cards are mailed; is your current address on file?
- Check the Lost and Found!!! So many nice items are remaining & they will be donated, if not collected.
- Please make sure all book fines are paid.
- Keep those kiddos reading over the summer!
Interesting facts: Teachers typically spend between four to six weeks re-teaching material that students have forgotten over the summer.
Research shows that students who read more, read better; they also write better, spell better, have larger vocabularies, and have better control of complex grammatical constructions (Krashen, 2009). - If your student is graduating; if you’ve moved or are moving; and you want to be removed from this email distribution list, please send me an email indicating such.
Attention Graduates: Need a high school transcript mailed for college admission? – please contact Mrs. Moore, or email her at kelli.moore@k12.sd.us If you haven’t already given your request to the office for your transcript to be sent, please remember to do so ASAP. Let her know where the transcript has to be sent. The CHS office has limited hours in the summer, so it’s best not to wait until it’s an emergency to put in a transcript request. (We say this kindly & encouragingly from years of past experience, and thank you in advance! 😊)

Wishing all our students and staff a wonderful, safe and relaxing summer break!
