Friday marked the end of semester one. Monday is a teacher workshop day, and therefore no school. Registration is open for kindergarten, so if you or any families you know have kindergarten-age students and still need to enroll them, it can be done by going to our enrollment page.

Did you know that ISD200 is one of the largest districts, covering over 170 square miles and includes five communities and seven townships? The district employs over 560 staff and has over 4000 learners who speak 24 different languages. While we have decreased in size, by over 400 students, since 2013, our diversity has increased by 10%, and the number of students receiving special education services has increased by almost 5%. Therefore, the current legislative budget discussions about state funding for special education cross-subsidy and English learner services will have a real impact on ALL Hastings learners.

Many children have never been to the dentist and are suffering from untreated dental care. Give Kids a Smile is a charitable outreach program that provides free dental care to underserved children (typically ages 3-18). Dental clinics throughout the state volunteer to provide these services during Children’s Dental Health Month. This program is focused on providing dental care to children who face barriers to accessing dental care. Families will NOT be asked any eligibility questions.
